Statement from Representative Bobbie Harder

St. Paul, MN — Representative Bobbie Harder, R-Henderson TWP, Issued the following statement:

“I was heartbroken to learn of the tragic events that unfolded this morning. The news of Speaker-Emeritus Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark being senselessly killed is devastating. My prayers are with their family and loved ones as they grieve this unimaginable loss.

We’ve also learned that Senator Hoffman and his wife Yvette were targeted in this same act of violence. While details about their condition are still developing, I join so many others in praying for their recovery and for strength in the days ahead.

This kind of violence shakes us all. It has no place in our communities, in our state, or in public life. As we mourn, I know Minnesotans will come together with compassion and resolve as we always do when faced with sorrow.”
