Rep. Wayne Johnson Responds to House Democrat Press Conference on Fraud ST. PAUL, MN — Representative Wayne Johnson (R-Cottage Grove) issued the following statement regarding yesterday's House Democrat fraud press conference: "After nearly a decade of denying, ignoring, and downplaying the Walz Administration’s fraud epidemic, House DFL members have finally realized that Minnesotans are furious and that this is a political disaster for their party. While I welcome their recent claims of wanting to join Republicans in pursuit of oversight and accountability, their actions tell a different story. Having just capitulated to Governor Walz by attempting to block a bipartisan bill that will create an apolitical Office of the Inspector General, the very agency needed for such oversight, House DFL members’ voting records make their latest talking points difficult to believe. Nonetheless, if their stated intentions to work alongside Republicans on real solutions prove sincere, I remain open to engaging with any DFL member who shares the desire to stop the fraud and get back to funding the education and infrastructure programs that Minnesotans care about and deserve." ### |
