March 6, 2026 Fraudsters In Retreat, More To Be DoneFriends and Neighbors, I am happy to inform you that, due to House Republican anti-fraud action, the criminals who have been stealing our taxpayer dollars are now retreating in fear. Take a look at these shocking statistics: ![]() Autism centers and non-emergency medical transport services are an important part of our state's infrastructure to assist some of Minnesota's most vulnerable communities. Yet, as these statistics show, much of this "assistance" was never even real. In an effort to crack down on high-risk sectors, we introduced measures to require all autism centers in operation to apply for a provisional license in order to continue their services. To date, only 6 out of more than 500 have applied. Additionally, after increasing scrutiny over non-emergency medical transport services last year, the number of rides being catalogued by these "providers" has fallen by 62%. These numbers are simply stunning and reflect a culture of rampant fraud that has been allowed to proliferate by the Walz Administration. In addition to the Office of the Inspector General bill that I have highlighted in previous newsletters, House Republicans are also introducing the Fraud Isn't Free Act, which will set in place financial accountability for state agencies who fail to protect our taxpayer dollars. This act includes a 10% budget reduction for agencies that do not uphold anti-fraud standards set by the Legislature, and imposes a 25% wage reduction on the commissioners of these poorly managed bureaucracies. In the private sector, if you don't do your job, you get fired. The same, if not greater, expectations should apply to the public officials who are entrusted with our hard-earned tax dollars. I remain committed to the passage of both of these bills, as I believe that Minnesotans deserve to know that their money is being responsibly safeguarded in an apolitical manner. |
Reducing Watercraft FeesAs far as I am concerned, there is no greater joy than exploring Minnesota's waterways with family and friends. However, after the recent DFL trifecta increased registration fees for watercraft, experiencing the outdoors has become increasingly cost-prohibitive. This year, I am happy to announce that I am an author on HF3669, which is a bill to reduce watercraft fees for Minnesotans back to a more reasonable level. Along with car tab fees, this is a topic that I have been hearing a lot about through emails, calls, and town hall conversations, so I am glad to be able to translate your feedback into action. ![]() |
Thank You For Visiting Me At The CapitolThis week, I had the opportunity to meet with many of you to discuss the industries and priorities that are most important to our community. To everyone who came to visit me in St. Paul, I thank you for making the trek to share with me how I can best advocate on your behalf at the State Legislature. Interacting with constituents is the best part of my job, as these meetings lay the groundwork for me to draft legislation that has a positive impact on our area, and Minnesota at large. |
