(ST. PAUL) Like millions of Americans across the country, State Rep. Rob Eastlund will participate in "Read Across America Day" on March 2 the birthday of the great children's writer Dr. Seuss. Rep. Eastlund will read to children in two classes at Cambridge and Isanti elementary schools. His schedule will be:

"I can't think of a better way to remember Dr. Seuss than to spend his birthday reading to children," said Rep. Eastlund. "I am honored to be given the opportunity to spend the day at Cambridge and Isanti elementary schools, and I am really looking forward to it."
This year marks the fourth annual Read Across America, sponsored by the National Education Association (NEA). Last year, more than 30 million adults and children took part in activities in schools across the country.
"Our focus this year is on 'Oh, The Places You'll Go!' through reading," says NEA President Bob Chase. "Our goal is for every student from pre-school through high school to be in the company of a book on March 2." Groups joining NEA's Read Across America include The American Library Association, America Reads, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Urban League, the NAACP, La Raza, and the Newspaper Association of America.
Rep. Eastlund serves District 18A in the House of Representatives. He serves on the Education Policy Committee, the Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs Committee, the Early Childhood Education Finance Committee and the State Government Finance Committee.
