Rep. Chris Gerlach (R- Apple Valley) was named a "1999 Honoree" by the Legislative Evaluation Assembly of Minnesota (LEA) for his voting record during the 1999 Minnesota Legislative Session.
The LEA is a 25-year-old non-profit, non-partisan corporation created to track voting records of legislators based on the traditional American principles of limited government, free enterprise, legal and moral order, and justice and individual liberty.
Gerlach was just one of 29 House members chosen for the award and received an 88 percent positive rating, the third highest rating given by the group.
Honorees were evaluated on their voting record on issues such as light rail, the size and spending levels of state government, expansion of welfare programs, and the Profile of Learning, for example.
