GUNTHER INVITES CITIZENS TO SIGN UP FOR EMAIL NEWSLETTER
To the editor:
In government and politics, we hear a lot about accountability. We talk about making state agencies accountable for tax dollars spent and elected officials accountable to those who put them in office. In decades past, this was a difficult task. Today, the process is much easier.
The Internet has revolutionized the way citizens keep tabs on our government. We can now send and receive email from each other in seconds, look up the fine print in proposed new laws, watch session or committee meetings live or archived, and a list of other features that grows each day. The Minnesota Legislature is a leader in Internet information-sharing and has received a number of rewards for that. If you been to our vast web network lately, you'll know why.
This year, I am using the Internet as a more direct way of bringing you information about what I'm doing in St. Paul and how some legislation will effect you and your family. If you visit my House website at www.house.mn/26A and click on "Email Updates," you will be able sign up to receive my email newsletter. If you don't have Internet access but still can get email, just let my office know and we'll get you set up. The messages will be weekly -- sometimes more -- during the 2002 Session, and you can remove your name from the list anytime by responding to an address on the end of the message.
As always, you are welcome to send letters to my office at 100 Constitution Ave., St. Paul, MN 55155, call 651-296-3240, or send e-mail to me at rep.bob.gunther@house.leg.state.mn.us.
I hope you take a moment to sign up. If you already have, you can expect to hear from me soon.
State Representative Bob Gunther
District 26A
