St. Paul State Representative Bill Haas (R-Champlin) announced today the Minnesota State Lottery sales in District 48A for the Fiscal Year 2001.
From July 1, 2000, through June 30, 2001, gross sales within the district were $3,182,407. During this period a total of twenty-three businesses in District 48A served as lottery retailers, earning $202,501 in commissions and incentives, Haas noted.
Lottery sales within the district resulted in various contributions to different state programs. "These contributions include $192, 854 to the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund and $311,876 to the General Fund," said Haas. "Other programs receiving contributions included the Game and Fish Fund and Natural Resources Fund, which each received $11.5 million from the sales tax."
During Fiscal Year 2001, sales statewide reached $366.1 million. From the inception of the Lottery in April 1990 through December 2001, the Lottery has transferred over $984 million to the State of Minnesota.
