JACOBSON TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL '53B DAY AT CAPITOL'
Area lawmaker invites citizens to spend a day with him in St. Paul
St. Paul State Representative Carl Jacobson (R-Vadnais Heights) announced today that he will host the second annual "Day at the Capitol" for the citizens of House District 53B. The area lawmaker is inviting citizens to spend a day with him in St. Paul for a behind-the-scenes look at the state legislature and Minnesota government.
"I am hoping that citizens from our area will be able to spend a day at the Capitol with me," said Jacobson. "We'll tour the State Capitol and have a mock session on the floor of the House. It will be a chance for local citizens to see and interact with their citizen-legislature."
"We decided to have the event this year on a Saturday so that kids who would be in school during the week can attend," Jacobson commented. "I hope lots of people take advantage of this unique opportunity."
House District 53B Day at the Capitol will be held Saturday, March 16, 2002. Participants will meet at 1:00 p.m. in the State Capitol Rotunda until around 3:30 p.m. The public is encouraged and invited to attend. Please RSVP by March 8, 2001 to 651-296- 9710.
