JACOBSON: DAY AT THE CAPITOL WAS A SUCCESS
To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people of our area for joining me at the Day at the Capitol I hosted last Saturday. About 40 people showed up to spend some time learning about what happens on a typical day at the State Capitol.
We toured the State Capitol with the Minnesota Historical Society and held a mock session on the House floor, where we debated a bill to ban cell phones in cars. In the end, the citizens from our area voted in the mock session to not ban cell phones in cars.
I hope that in the future more of you will come down to the State Capitol and visit and see what a day is like at the Legislature. If you are interested in doing so, please feel free to give me a call at 651-296-7153. Thanks again for everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to spend some time learning about state government.
