JACOBSON: HEALTH CARE COSTS HEARING IN VADNAIS HEIGHTS

In recent years, the cost of health care has increased at a rapid rate. It is not uncommon to hear about people unable to afford appropriate healthcare. Fortunately, Minnesota has one of the highest rates of insured citizens and some of the best care available in the world; however, costs for services have skyrocketed. In light of these rapidly increasing costs, legislators have recognized that we as Minnesotans must do something to curb cost increases and to further aid those who need assistance.
As a member of the House Health and Human Services Policy Committee, I would like to take this opportunity to invite folks to a special hearing about this problem that will be held in our very own community. Representatives of various business and union groups have been invited to participate. You are also invited to participate and share your thoughts with the legislators who are a part of the committee. Those wishing to testify are asked to briefly describe their experiences, and to then focus their remarks on what they are doing to keep costs down and their recommendations.
This legislative hearing on health care costs is the first in a series to be held throughout the state. It will be held on Wednesday, September 26th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Vadnais Heights City Hall, 800 East County Road E in Vadnais Heights.
