St. Paul -- State Representative Carl Jacobson (R-Vadnais Heights) announced today that the House Health and Human Services Policy Committee will hold a hearing in Vadnais Heights to address the rising costs of healthcare services.
"I am honored that Chairman Fran Bradley (R-Rochester) has chosen Vadnais Heights as the location of the first in a series of hearings planned throughout the state," said Jacobson. "Fortuantely, Minnesota has one of the highest rates of insured citizens in the nation, however folks still are experiencing increasing costs and we should do what we can at the state level to address these rising costs."
Representatives of various business and union groups have been invited to testify at the legislative hearing. The public is also invited and encouraged to participate. "The other legislators on the committee and I look forward to hearing about the experiences of local people when it comes to rising healthcare costs," said Jacobson. "We're asking those interested in testifying to briefly describe their experiences, and to then focus their remarks on what they are doing to keep costs down, and include their recommendations."
The hearing will be held on Wednesday, September 26th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Vadnais Heights City Hall, 800 East County Road E in Vadnais Heights. If you are interested in participating, please contact Heidi Holste at 651-296-7185.
