St. Paul State Representative Carl Jacobson (R-Vadnais Heights) announced this week that he will host a Senior Fair. The Fair will give senior citizens an opportunity to learn about the services available to them from Ramsey County and the State of Minnesota.
"The First Annual Representative Carl Jacobson Senior Fair" will take place from 9 a.m. until noon on Monday, October 29, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Shoreview. The completely free event will feature booths from a variety of state and local agencies and organizations which provide services to seniors. Among those scheduled to attend will be representatives from Ramsey County Social Services, who will offer information on such things as health insurance, tax assistance, transportation assistance, the Senior Information Line and volunteer opportunities.
"Dozens of services are available to senior citizens if they know where to look," said Representative Jacobson. "By bringing together state and local organizations to one location, this event gives people the opportunity to learn about what's out there and available to them. I have really appreciated hearing from seniors in my first term as a legislator, and I hope many more will be able to make it to this event."
The Senior Fair will take place at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, which is located at 3920 North Victoria Street in Shoreview, Minnesota on Monday, October 29th from 9 a.m. to noon. Those with questions are asked to call Representative Jacobson's office at 651- 296-7153.
State Representative Carl Jacobson is in his first term as a legislator, representing House District 53B which includes the communities of Gem Lake, Little Canada, Maplewood, North Oaks, Shoreview, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Lake, and White Bear Township. He serves on the House Health & Human Services Policy Committee as well as the full Tax Committee and Sales & Income Tax Division of the Tax Committee.
