NEWS RELEASE
KRINKIE UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSED BY LOCAL REPUBLICAN PARTY

Shoreview State Representative Phil Krinkie (R-Shoreview) was unanimously endorsed for re-election by local Republicans. The new legislative district 53A includes the towns of Lino Lakes, Blaine, Lexington, Circle Pines, North Oaks and Shoreview.

"My mission will continue to be placing the family budget before the state budget," Krinkie told those in attendance at the meeting. "As your legislator, it is important to me that I have your support in my bid for re-election. I am honored that you have unanimously given me your endorsement."

Krinkie serves as the chair of the House State Government Finance Committee. He is also a member of the Governmental Operations and Governmental Affairs Policy Committee; Local Government and Metropolitan Affairs Committee; Taxes Committee; and, Ways and Means Committee. He is one of the few legislators who serves on five committees.

"This has been a difficult legislative session," said Krinkie. "With a budget deficit of more than $2 billion, the struggle has been whether to cut government spending or increase taxes on working Minnesotans. I want people to know that I strongly believe that the reason for the budget deficit is that Minnesota government spends too much, not that Minnesota citizens are taxed too little."

In a speech to those in attendance at the meeting, Krinkie noted that he recently received the "Friend of the Taxpayer" award from the Minnesota Taxpayer's League and that he will continue to hold the line on state spending and be a watchdog for Minnesota taxpayers.

Krinkie is the owner of the Snelling Heating and Cooling, and lives in Shoreview with his wife and daughter.
