(ST. PAUL) -- Rep. Rich Stanek (R-Maple Grove) began his fourth term representing District 33B on January 3 as he took the oath of office and the 82nd Session of the Minnesota House of Representatives was called to order.
Rep. Stanek wasted no time introducing his first bills of the session, legislation which would provide income tax relief for all Minnesotans and provide transportation funding for the northwestern suburbs.
"These bills pick up where we left off last session," Rep. Stanek said. "The tax relief and highway investments we made were good first steps, but more needs to be done. I'm encouraged that Gov. Ventura made tax relief the focus of his State of the State Address last week."
In addition to serving as chair of the Judiciary Finance Committee, Rep. Stanek will hold a seat on the Crime Prevention Committee, the Civil Law Committee, and the powerful Ways and Means Committee.
"I'm honored that the citizens of District 33B sent me back to St. Paul to fight for tax relief, improved transportation, better schools and safer neighborhoods," Rep. Stanek said. "I'm looking forward to working for the families of Maple Grove and Plymouth for another two years."
Rep. Stanek welcomes comments and questions from constituents. Write to him at 543 State Office Building, 100 Constitution Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55155. His phone number at the State Capitol is 651-296-5502.
