(St. Paul)--Rep. Rich Stanek announced that he will be holding a town meeting in preparation for the upcoming legislative session. The town meeting will be an opportunity for the public to speak personally to Rep. Stanek about what issues they would like to see addressed at the state capitol in the months ahead.
"The input of the people I represent is very important to me," Rep. Stanek said. "It helps me to decide what I should focus on during the 2002 session."
Rep. Stanek went on to say, "We are facing the reality of a budget shortfall in the coming year. But we are also facing the need to bolster public safety and preparedness, along with confronting issues such as education funding, transportation, and rising health care costs." He added, "I need opinions and advice from the citizens of my district to determine what they would like to see accomplished during the upcoming legislative session, and find out what issues matter most to them."
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 5, 2002, from 7 - 8 pm. It will be held in the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove. Refreshments will be provided.
