ST. PAUL State Representative Rich Stanek (R-Maple Grove) has announced changes to his legislative district as a result of the court redistricting plans, released on Tuesday. Redistricting takes place every ten years, after the census.
"The redrawing of political boundaries has significantly changed our current legislative
District 33B, because of population shifts and tremendous growth in this area," said Rep. Stanek.
The current District 33B includes Maple Grove, Plymouth, and portions of northwest Hennepin County. The majority of that district is now included in a new District 32B, which includes Maple Grove and Osseo. Plymouth is no longer included in Rep. Stanek's district, but has been added to the district just south of 32B.
"For the residents of those communities that are no longer a part of my district, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve you in St. Paul over the past years," said Rep. Stanek. "For those folks who are new to District 32B, such as the residents of Osseo, I am excited to get to know you and look forward to representing you in the future."
