(ST. PAUL) State Representative Rich Stanek (R-Maple Grove) received the Republican endorsement to represent House District 33B in the Minnesota House of Representatives by unanimous vote. The endorsement came on Saturday, March 18 at the Senate District 33 endorsing convention at Rogers Junior High School.
"I am very pleased to have received this vote of confidence to continue representing District 33B in the House of Representatives," said Rep. Stanek. "Through their support, the people of this district have shown they agree with my philosophy of a limited government that focuses on fundamental issues like education, transportation and public safety. They also support my efforts to reduce the size of government, return the surplus to taxpayers and enact a permanent income tax cut for families."
Now in his third term in the Minnesota House of Representatives, Stanek serves as the Chairman of the House Crime Prevention Committee. The committee has been very active this session, most recently working on Katie's Law, named after abducted teenager Katie Poirier. The legislation would tighten sex offender laws with lifetime registration, stronger penalties and constructing a computerized criminal tracking network. It unanimously passed the House of Representatives on March 16.
Rep. Stanek also announced the availability of his website, www.reprichstanek.com. The site features links to legislation introduced by Rep. Stanek, as well as his recent press releases, photographs, campaign-related information and much more.
"I hope that this website will be one more tool my constituents will use to keep in touch with me," Stanek said. "I've been very proud to have the privilege of the contact I've had serving residents of House District 33B in the state legislature. I am looking forward to continuing that service for two more years."
