ST. PAUL At a local political caucus on Saturday, State Representative Rich Stanek (R- Maple Grove) was endorsed by local Republicans to seek a fifth term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. As a result of the redistricting plans released in mid-March, Rep. Stanek will be running for office in District 32B, which includes Maple Grove and Osseo.
"I am both honored and excited to receive the endorsement of the people in this area," said Rep. Stanek. "Honored that these communities have put their trust in my past leadership, and excited at the opportunity to continue serving the needs and priorities of Maple Grove and Osseo at the State Capitol."
Rep. Stanek is a fifteen-year resident of the Maple Grove area, and has seen his community grow exponentially in recent years. While that growth has brought a new economic base of businesses and a generous amount of new residential development, Stanek feels it has also brought new challenges.
"I have been working in the House to address the new challenges facing our community as it continues to grow," said Rep. Stanek. "Those challenges include the lagging transportation infrastructure in the northwest suburbs, and ensuring that local schools have the resources and facilities they need to support a growing student body, and working to put limits on how much Minnesota taxes hard-working families."
