(ST. PAUL) Nominations are now open for the 38th annual Minnesota Teacher of the Year, and Rep. Rich Stanek is encouraging District 33B residents to nominate a teacher from Maple Grove or Plymouth.
"We have many great teachers in our area who deserve recognition for their work," said Stanek. "This is a perfect opportunity to honor that special teacher who makes a difference every day in the lives of his or her students."
Public or nonpublic school Pre-K through 12th grade teachers who hold a Minnesota teaching license are eligible. There are no restrictions on who may nominate teachers.
Minnesota has been highly successful at the national level. The state has been home to four National Teachers of the Year, which is the second-highest total in the nation. For more information or to receive nomination materials, call the Teacher of the Year program at 651-227- 9541. The deadline for nominations is May 18.
