(ST. PAUL) Rep. Rich Stanek (R-Maple Grove) applauded the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for including the Weaver Lake interchange in its plans for allocating the $560 million appropriated by the legislature this year. The plan includes $54.4 million for the six-lane project on Interstate 94 from Weaver Lake to Humboldt Avenue.
"Everyone knows that we live in an area that's experiencing tremendous development and growth," said Stanek. "I'm pleased that MnDOT recognizes our area's economic and housing growth, and that as a result our infrastructure needs to catch up."
According to the Department of Transportation, the new highway funding package will accelerate the completion of 10 metro area projects, which will improve highway safety and mobility by fixing bottlenecks.
