REP. SWENSON FILES FOR RE-ELECTION

ST. PAUL -- Representative Howard Swenson (R-Nicollet) has made it official that he will seek re-election to the Minnesota House of Representatives by filing with the Secretary of State's office. Rep. Swenson, is a retired dairy farmer from rural Nicollet.

Rep. Swenson is a strong voice for agricultural and transportation issues in Minnesota. "It has been a privilege to serve the people of south central Minnesota for the past eight years, and I look forward to representing their interests once again in St. Paul," Swenson said.

First elected in 1994, Rep. Swenson is seeking re-election as representative for the new District 23A. The new district is composed of Nicollet County and part of Sibley County, including the cities of St. Peter, North Mankato, Gibbon, Winthrop, and Gaylord.

Swenson currently serves as vice-chairman of the Agriculture & Rural Development Finance Committee and is a member of the House committees on Agriculture & Rural Development Policy, Environment & Natural Resources Policy & Finance, and Ways and Means.
