NEWS RELEASE
SMITH RECEIVES MINNESOTA CHAMBER ENDORSEMENT

ST. PAUL State Representative Steve Smith, R- Mound, has received another endorsement from the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Fund. Smith said he was honored to receive the endorsement.

"I am honored that the Minnesota Chamber recognizes my commitment to business and improving the environment in which businesses operate in Minnesota," Smith said. "Establishing strong businesses are key to employing good people, producing top quality products, and keeping Minnesota competitive nationally and internationally."

The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Fund seeks to create an environment in which businesses will prosper through improving state and regulatory policy that affect Minnesota businesses. They endorse candidates based on their voting record, local business support, questionnaire responses, leadership on key business issues and recommendations from other business associations.

"I believe that creating opportunities for entrepreneurs is key to creating a healthy and viable economy," Smith continued. "I believe we can accomplish this through lower taxes on our businesses and creating incentives for companies willing to locate in Minnesota. Let's grow jobs and healthy families in Minnesota. Not more taxes!"

Smith has also received endorsements from the AFL-CIO, theMinnesota Joint Teamsters Council No. 32 and AFSCME, the Association of Federal, State, and County Municipal Employees earlier this summer in addition to an endorsement from the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE), who named him Legislator of the Year earlier this spring.
