Starting Line: How’s your cursive handwriting?

Most adults grew up with cursive handwriting as part of our elementary school curriculum. But how much do people still use this type of penmanship? And with today’s technology, does it make sense to continue to teach students cursive handwriting?

Rep. Heather Edelson (DFL-Edina) would tell you — in script, no doubt — "yes." This week on Starting Line we learn more about her effort to keep cursive handwriting alive by creating an elementary curriculum that would enable students to develop legible cursive handwriting skills by the end of fifth grade.
