Members got back to work after a Passover break this week that meant official House business didn’t begin until Wednesday, when committees convened and members gathered for a floor session to continue passing bills off the floor.

Conference committees also ramped up their work and the House Ways and Means Committee began merging bills to better align them with their Senate counterparts as this year’s legislative session closes in on its final phase.

Marathon floor sessions may soon await — perhaps as early as Monday. Eight bills are on the days' Calendar for the Day, including three — HF4300, HF601 and HF2609 — that involve firearms. Another bill, HF4444, concerns misclassification of employees and has provoked lengthy discussions on its path to the floor.
