1.5 Subd. 2.
Combined polling place. (a) When no other election is being held in a school
1.6district, the school board may designate combined polling places at which the voters
in
1.7those precincts may vote in the school district election.
1.8 (b) By December 31 of each year, the school board must designate, by resolution, any
1.9changes to combined polling places. The combined polling places designated in the
resolution
1.10are the polling places, unless a change is made in accordance with this paragraph
or:
1.11 (1) pursuant to section
204B.175; or
1.12 (2) because a polling place has become unavailable.
1.13 (c) If the school board designates combined polling places pursuant to this subdivision,
1.14polling places must be designated throughout the district, taking into account both
1.15geographical distribution and population distribution.
At a special election conducted by a
1.16school district with boundaries that include more than one county, at least one polling
place
1.17must be designated within each county in which more than 5,000 of the school district's
1.18registered voters reside, calculated as of the district's most recent general election.
A
1.19combined polling place must be at a location designated for use as a polling place
by a
1.20county or municipality, except as provided in this paragraph. If the municipality
conducts
1.21elections by mail balloting pursuant to section
204B.45, the school board may designate a
1.22polling place not used by the municipality if the polling place satisfies the requirements
in
1.23section
204B.16, subdivisions 4 to 7.
2.1 (d) In school districts that have organized into separate board member election districts
2.2under section
205A.12, a combined polling place for a school general election must be
2.3arranged so that it does not include more than one board member election district."
