1.3    "Sec. 62. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 137.0246, is amended by adding a subdivision

1.5    Subd. 3. Governor appointments. (a) If the joint legislative committee recommends a​
1.6candidate to the joint convention for a vacancy on the board of regents and the legislature​
1.7does not elect a person to fill the vacancy, the governor, in making an appointment to fill​
1.8the vacancy, may only appoint a candidate recommended by the joint legislative committee.
1.9(b) If the Regent Candidate Advisory Council has recommended candidates for a vacancy
1.10on the board of regents, the legislature​ does not elect a person to fill the vacancy, and the
1.11joint legislative committee does not recommend a​ candidate to the joint convention for the
1.12vacancy, the governor, in making an appointment to fill​ the vacancy, may only appoint a
1.13candidate recommended by the advisory council."
1.14Renumber the sections in sequence and correct the internal references
