MINUTES



Representative Jeff Johnson, Chairman of the Civil Law and Elections Committee, called the twenty first meeting to order at 9:20AM on Friday, April 1, 2005, in Room 300S of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Chairman Johnson moved HF1608 (Cox) District court authorized to hear appeals of lesser utility fines, be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register. Chairman Johnson moved the H1608A1 to be adopted (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chairman Johnson renewed his motion that HF1608 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register. MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Johnson moved HF2019 (Bradley) Medical assistance recovery from trusts and annuities authorized, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Commerce Committee.

Chairman Johnson moved amendment H2019A1-1 be adopted (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Pete Nelson moved HF2118 (Nelson) Precinct election summary statement requirements modified, be recommended to pass and be held over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Elections bill.

Representative Emmer moved HF1143 Investigative and licensing data classified, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Health Policy and Finance. Representative Emmer moved amendment A05-0168 to be adopted (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chairman Johnson moved HF1630 (Thissen) Homestead exemption increased relating to debtor creditor relations, be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative Thissen presented HF1630.
