MINUTES


Representative Brad Finstad, Vice Chair of the Health Policy and Finance Committee, called the thirty-fourth meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2005 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

HF 2172 (Bradley) Licensing and alternative quality assurance task force established.

Rep. Bradley moved HF 2172 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs Policy.

Rep. Bradley presented HF 2172.

Testifying in support of the bill:

Rep. Bradley renewed his motion that HF 2172 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1875 (Bradley) Human services agency technical amendments provided relating to children and family services, health care, and continuing care programs.

Rep. Bradley moved HF 1875 be recommended to pass.

Rep. Bradley presented HF 1875.

Lisa Knazan, MN Department of Human Services

Rep. Bradley renewed his motion that HF 1875 be recommended to pass. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF 399 (Peterson, A Yellow Medicine County Hospital District board membership specified.

Rep. Finstad moved HF 399 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health Policy and Finance omnibus bill.

Rep. Peterson presented HF 399.

Testifying in support of HF 399:

Nancy Salmon, Sioux Valley Hospital, Canby Campus

Marie Zimmerman, House Fiscal analyst, responded to members’ questions.

Rep. Finstad modified his motion and moved HF 399 be recommended to pass. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, April 4, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
