MINUTES


Representative Fran Bradley, Chair of the Health Policy and Finance Committee, called the forty-ninth meeting to order at 10:19 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2006 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

HF 2973 (Eastlund) Human Services campus security upgrades provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Rep. Eastlund gave a brief overview of the bill.

HF 2981 (Soderstrom) Minnesota sex offender treatment program at Moose Lake funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Rep. Soderstrom gave a brief overview of the bill.

HF 2986 (Brod) St. Peter Regional Treatment Center capital improvements funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Rep. Brod gave a brief overview of the bill.

HF2595 (Hilty) Moose Lake sex offender treatment program service facilities expansion funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Rep. Hilty gave a brief overview of the bill.

The following people presented a review of the Governor’s bonding proposals for the MN Department of Human Services:

Mike Tessneer, Chief Executive Officer, MN Department of Human Services

The Chair held over the HF 2973, HF 2981, HF 2986, and HF 2595 for consideration in the Committee’s bonding prioritizations.

HF 2920 (Gazelka) Brainerd Regional Treatment Center methamphetamine treatment center for women development funding provided, bonds issued and money appropriated.

Rep. Gazelka gave a brief overview of the bill.

The Chair held over HF 2920 for consideration in the Committee’s bonding prioritizations.

HF 2756 (Howes) Ah-Gwah-Ching Regional Treatment Center redevelopment funding provided, bonds issued and money appropriated.

Rep. Howes gave a brief overview of the bill.

The Chair held over HF 2756 for consideration in the Committee’s bonding prioritizations.

HF 2733 (Juhnke) Dental clinic serving southwest and west central Minnesota funding provided, bonds issued and money appropriated.

Rep. Juhnke gave a brief overview of the bill.

The Chair held over HF 2733 for consideration in the Committee’s bonding prioritizations.

HF 2630 (Rukavina) Virginia Regional Medical Center helipad funding provided, bonds issued and money appropriated.

Rep. Rukavina gave a brief overview of the bill.

The Chair held over HF 2630 for consideration in the Committee’s bonding prioritizations.

The Chair referred HF 2831 and HF 2832 to the Health Care Cost Containment Division.

The next meeting of the Health Policy and Finance Committee will be held on Friday, March 3, 2006, at 10:15 a.m. in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:50 a.m.
