MINUTES


Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee, called the thirty-seventh meeting to order at 8:23 a.m., on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Representative Gazelka moved to approve the Minutes of March 22 & 23, 2005. The Motion prevailed and the Minutes of March 22 & 23, 2005 were approved.


H.F.1831 (Ruth) Small business growth acceleration program established, and money appropriated.

Representative Ruth moves HF1831 to be before the committee and to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Clark moved Amendment EL44. The motion prevailed and Amendment EL44 was adopted.

HF1831 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.


H.F.1640 (Magnus) Job opportunity building zones and biotechnology and health sciences industry zone provisions modified

Chair Gunther moved HF1640 to be before the committee and recommended passage and to be re-referred to the committee on Taxes.


Representative Gazelka moved Amendment H1640A1. The motion prevailed and Amendment H1640A1 was adopted.

Chair Gunther renewed his motion to recommend passage of HF1640, as amended, and re-refer to the committee on Taxes. The motion prevailed.


H.F.2034 (Cornish) Blue Earth County; Riverbend Center for Entrepreneurial Facilitation funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Gunther moved HF2034 to be before the committee and recommended HF2034 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Mahoney moved Amendment H1830A3. The motion prevailed and Amendment H1830A3 was adopted.

HF1830 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.
