Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee called the fifty-sixth meeting to order at 8:22 a.m., on Thursday, March 23, 2006, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Chair Gunther called Representative Nelson to the Chair at 8:23 AM.


HF3093(Gunther) Unemployment insurance law policy, housekeeping, and style changes provided; administrative rules incorporated into statute; and fraud penalties modified.

Chair Gunther moved HF3093 to be before the committee.

Chair Gunther presented HF3093.

Chair Gunther moved Amendment A06-1303. The motion prevailed. Amendment A06-1303 was adopted.

Chair Gunther moved an oral amendment to HF3093, Page 4, Line 24, delete”60” insert “600”; Page 21, Line 10, delete “20” insert “30”. The motion prevailed. The oral amendment to HF3093 was adopted.

HF3618(Finstad) Human services departmental, commissioner, and related entities technical changes provided.

Representative Westerberg moved HF3618 to be before the committee.

Representative Finstad presented HF13618.

Chair Gunther moved an oral amendment to HF 3618, Page 2, Line 1, delete “injury” insert “harm”; Page 32, Line 28, delete “is” insert “will be”. The motion prevailed. The oral amendment to HF3618 was adopted.

HF3578(Clark) Physician pilot project to encourage Minnesota licensure for foreign-trained physicians established, and money appropriated.

Representative Clark moved HF3578 to be before the committee.

Representative Clark moved Amendment H3578-A1. The author’s amendment was incorporated into HF3578.

HF3133(Gazelka) Employment and Economic Development Department technical and housekeeping changes provided, department assistance provision to small businesses regarding federal funds required, fees imposed, and revenue appropriated.

Representative Gazelka moved HF3133 to be before the committee.

Representative Gazelka presented HF3133.
