MINUTES


Representative Steve Smith, Chair of the Public Safety Policy and Finance Committee, called the nineteenth meeting to order at 10:28 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2005 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Cornish moved approval of the minutes of February 23, 2005, Public Safety Policy and Finance Meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Johnson, J. moved HF572 relating to methamphetamine precursor drug sales regulated, civil immunity provided for reporting of suspicious transactions, criminal penalties and property restrictions imposed, meth lab cleanup fund established, and money appropriated.

Rep. Johnson moved to amend HF572 with the H0572A2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Rep. Johnson presented HF572.

Rep. Johnson renewed his motion that HF572 be recommended to pass as amended and that it be referred to the Committee on Health Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
