Representative Carlson, Chair of the Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 9:41 A.M. on Friday, April 25, 2008, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Clark moved approval of the minutes of Tuesday, April 22, 2008. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

Chair Carlson moved adoption of the Health Care and Human Services Finance Division Report for HF4014, First Committee Engrossment. (See language at http://wdoc.house.leg.state.mn.us/leg/LS85/CEH4014.1.pdf). THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Carlson moved that HF4014, First Committee Engrossment, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Rep. Fritz presented HF4014, First Committee Engrossment (Fritz) Steele County; Nursing home and assisted living facility and related asset transfer authorized to nonprofit corporations and acquisition of membership interest in nonprofit corporations authorized.

Rep. Pelowski moved to amend HF3494, First Engrossment. (See attached amendment H3494A4). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Pelowski presented HF3494, First Engrossment, as amended, (Pelowski) State employee blood donors provided with up to three hours of paid leave in any 12-month period, and employee leave provided by employers.
