MINUTES
Representative Mary Murphy, Chair, called the third meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2007 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Murphy called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Rep. Lyndon Carlson, ex-officio, was present at the meeting.
A quorum was present at 4:03 p.m.
Dr. Wilson Bradshaw of Saint Paul, President of Metropolitan State University and Dr. Donovan Schwichtenberg of Saint Paul, President of Saint Paul College testified to the successes of the Power of You Program at Metropolitan State University, Saint Paul College, and Minneapolis Community and Technical College.
James Grathwol of Minneapolis testified to Representative Ruud's question regarding graduation and drop out rates at Minneapolis and Saint Paul Public Schools.
Vice Chair Peterson introduced the students, teachers, and administrator from the Sandburg Middle School International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program.
Lauren Hildebrand of Blaine, Director of Carl Sandburg Middle School International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, testified to the successes of the International Baccalaureate Program.
Katy Nelson of Maple Grove and Nicole Gilbertson of Minneapolis, 6th Grade Teachers at Carl Sandburg Middle School International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, testified to their experiences as teachers in the International Baccalaureate Program.
Linda Kerandi of Plymouth, Ryan Murphy of Golden Valley, and Tom Bainey of New Hope, 7th Grade Students at Carl Sandburg Middle School International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, testified to their experiences as students in the International Baccalaureate Program.
