MINUTES


Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 7:00PM on February 28, 2007, at Hinckley Elementary School, 11 Blair Ave, Hinckley, MN 55037.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Committee members traveled to Hinckley Elementary School to learn about the SCRED Reading Model.

Chris McHugh, Education Director, St. Croix River District
Kim Gibbons, Director of Special Education, Hinckley/Finlayson School District

Barb Scierka, Reading First Coach, Hinckley Elementary School


The meeting was adjourned at 8:30PM.

HF987 (Davnie) Contract alternative program students over the age of 21 authorized to receive instruction until graduation.
HF703 (Peterson, A) School districts that have participated in the cooperative secondary facilities program authorized to levy for certain unfunded severance and retirement costs.
HF1324 (Heidgerken) Levy authority authorized for unfunded severance and reitrement costs faced by school districts that have participated in the cooperative secondary facilities program.
HF831 (Sailer) Independent School District No. 2311, Clearbrook-Gonvick, authorized to use health and safety revenue to demolish a building.
HF1147 (Sailer) Independent School District No. 38, Red Lake, security improvements funding provided, and money appropriated.
HF982 (Norton) Independent School District No. 535, Rochester, property tax levy certification deadline date extended.
HF980 (Knuth) Referendum aid adjustment modified for open enrollment students.
