MINUTES


Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:20PM on March 12, 2008, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Greg Crowe provided an explanation and overview of state education funding accounting shifts.

Representative Morrow assumed the gavel at 2:50pm.

HF3951 (Greiling) A bill for an act relating to education; providing for prekindergarten through grade 12 education, including general education, education excellence, and state agencies.

Representative Greiling moved HF3951 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Representative Greiling offered H3941A1 as an amendment to HF3951.

THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Erickson assumed the gavel at 3:12pm.

Representative Greiling, Alice Seagren, Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Education, Fred Storti, Executive Director, MN Elementary School Principals' Association, Mark Klein, Vice-President of Consulting, Minnesota High-Tech Association, and Tom Melcher, Finance Director, MN Department of Education, testified.


The meeting adjourned at 3:55PM.
