MINUTES


Representative Michael Paymar, Chair of the Public Safety Finance Division Committee, called the twenty-ninth meeting to order at 8:04 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2007 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF0767 (Dominguez) Appropriating money for an offender reentry pilot project.

Rep. Dominguez presented HF0767.

Rep. Dominguez moved HF0767 to be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Division omnibus bill.

Rep. Buesgens moved an oral amendment to HF0767 as follows:
Page 2, line 13, after "justice"
delete "funding"
THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Paymar renewed the motion that HF0767, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Division omnibus bill.

Rep. Olin assumed chair at 8:31 a.m.

Rep. Haws moved approval of the minutes for March 14, 2007 and March 15, 2007. MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

HF1823 (Paymar) Establishing a five year demonstration project designed to apply best practices; assembling core services currently provided separately, including housing, behavioral health, health care, employment, and community and family reengagement; appropriating money.

Chair Olin moved HF1823 to be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Division omnibus bill.

Rep. Paymar presented HF0684.

Rep. Paymar moves HF0684 to be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Division omnibus bill.

Chair Olin renewed the motion that HF1823 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Division omnibus bill.

HF2133 (Olin) Appropriating money for state's share of costs of pre-commitment detention of persons under civil commitment law.

Rep. Olin moves HF2133 to be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Division omnibus bill.
