MINUTES


Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:35AM on March 23, 2010, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF2887 (Drazkowski) A bill for an act relating to taxation; local government aid; disaster aid to the city of St. Charles.

Representative Drazkowski and Nick Koverman, Administrator, City of St. Charles, testified.

A quorum was present at 8:40am.

Representative Greiling moved HF2887 be passed without recommendation, and be returned to Finance with a re-referral to the Taxes Committee.

Representative Greiling offered H2887DE1 as an amendment to HF2887.

HF3237 (Huntley) A bill for an act relating to human services; changing health care eligibility provisions; making changes to individualized education plan requirements.

Representative Greiling moved HF30237 be recommended to pass and returned to Finance.

Representative Huntley and Susan Castellano, Health Care Manager, Department of Human Services, testified.

Representative Greiling renewed her motion that HF3237 be recommended to pass and returned to Finance.

HF2867 (Newton) A bill for an act relating to education; clarifying the definition of a child with a disability; specifying obligations to children with disabilities.

Representative Newton moved HF2867 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Page 2, line 5, before "until" insert "from birth"

Representative Newton moved HF3487 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Representative Newton offered H3487DE1 as an amendment to HF3487.

Representative Mariaini moved HF34804 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Representative Mariani offered H3404A2 as an amendment to HF3404.

Representative Davnie moved HF2885 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Representative Davnie and Patty Heminover, Superintendent, South St. Paul Schools, testified.

Representative Davnie renewed his motion that HF2885 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.


Representative Benson moved the minutes of March 18, 2010 be adopted.
