MINUTES


Representative Karen Clark, Chair, called the twenty-second meeting to order at 10:39 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.


Chair Clark moved that HF 2070 (Mullery), Targeted neighborhood revitalization program modified, revolving fund created, and money appropriated, be returned to the Committee on Finance, with a recommended re-referral to the Higher Education and Workforce Development Division.

Representative Mullery presented HF 2070 (Mullery).

Chair Clark moved to amend HF 2070 (See attached amendment H2070A1). THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Clark moved to amend HF 2070 as amended (See attached amendment H2070A2). THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Clark renewed the motion that HF 2070 as amended, Targeted neighborhood revitalization program modified, revolving fund created, and money appropriated, be returned to the Committee on Finance, with a recommended re-referral to the Higher Education and Workforce Development Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Laine assumed the gavel at 11:01

Informational hearing on HF 1993 (Clark), Minneapolis; Utility poles treated with or containing pentachlorophenol prohibited.

Chair Laine moved that HF 1366 (Abeler), Social work licensing provisions modified, fees reduced, be laid over for possible inclusion to an omnibus bill.

Representative Abeler presented HF 1366 (Abeler).

Chair Laine moved an oral amendment to HF 1366 as follows:

Delete Articles 1 and 2

THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Laine renewed the motion that HF 1366 as amended (Abeler), Social work licensing provisions modified, fees reduced, be laid over for possible inclusion to an omnibus bill. Hearing no objection, the bill as amended was laid over.

Representative Rosenthal moved that the minutes of March 31, 2009 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.
