Representative Mary Murphy, Chair, called the seventh meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Jim Nobles of Saint Paul, Legislative Auditor, testified to the Legislative Auditor’s findings on grant management in Minnesota
Judy Randall of Saint Paul, Evaluation Manager in the Office of the Legislative Auditor, testified to the Office of the Legislative Auditor’s review of state grant management
Cecil Ferkul of Saint Paul, Deputy Legislative Auditor in the Office of the Legislative Auditor, testified to the Office of the Legislative Auditor’s reviews of grant recipients in Minnesota
Mr. Nobles answered questions from the committee
Ms. Randall answered questions from the committee
Ms. Ferkul answered questions from the committee
Kristin Batson of Saint Paul, Director of the Office of Grants Management, testified to the work of the Office of Grants Management and the State Grant Policies
Ms. Batson answered questions from the committee
Vickie Benson of Minneapolis, Program Director for the McKnight Foundation, testified to the work of the McKnight Foundation with regard to arts grants
Ms. Benson answered questions from the committee
Wayne Sames of Saint Paul, Local Grants Manager for the Department of Natural Resources, testified to the functioning of the Department of Natural Resources Local Grants Program

Representative Mack moved that the minutes of February 9, 2009 be adopted
