MINUTES


Representative Joe Atkins, Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:34 P.M. on February 24, 2009, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Atkins moved the H0359A2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Atkins moved HF359, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on State Government Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF811 (Davids) Insolvent life and health insurance company policyholder maximum dollar protection amount increased to provide greater comparability with limits of federal deposit insurance of bank accounts.

Representative Davids moved HF811.

Representative Davids moved the H0811DE2amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davids moved the H0811A1 amendment to the H0811DE2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davids moved the H0811A2 amendment to the H0811DE2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davids moved the H0811A3 amendment to the H0811DE2 amendment.

Representative Davids moved to orally amend the H0811A3 as follows:
Line 1.1, delete "H0811A2" and insert "H0811DE2". THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davids moved the H0811A3 amendment to the H0811DE2 amendment, as amended. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davids moved HF811, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Civil Justice. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Representative Sanders moved that the minutes of February 17th, 2009 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
