MINUTES


Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Division, called the second meeting to order at 10:33 A.M. on, January 16, 2009, in room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members excused:
Solberg, Loren

Representative Davnie called the meeting to order at 10:33 A.M. A quorum was present.

Introductions were made by members and staff.

Representative Murdock moved adoption of the January 13, 2009 minutes.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testimony was given by:

Lee Nelson, Director of Unemployment Insurance and Legal Affairs from the Department of Employment and Economic Development

A handout was given to division members:
"Positively MN Unemployment Insurance in Minnesota".
Mr. Nelson to provide copies of the Unemployment Insurance report to division members.


Steve Sviggum, Commissioner of the Department of Labor

A handout was given to division members:
"Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry".

Brad Lehto, Chief of Staff and Jennifer Schaubach, Legislative Director -Minnesota AFL-CIO

A handout was given to division members:
"Minnesota AFL-CIO".



The meeting adjourned at 11:44 A.M.
