MINUTES

Representative Garofalo, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. on March 20, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present at 12:36 p.m.

Representative Greiling moved that the minutes of March 15, 2012 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2640 (Dettmer) Pay differential law amended as it applies to school district employees who are members of the National Guard or any other reserve unit.

Representative Garofalo moved HF2640 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Dettmer presented HF2640.

Representative Garofalo renewed his motion that HF2640 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the General Register.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2890 (Quam) Mobile technology funding provided for a pilot project designed to increase the efficiency and efficacy of instructional services, and money appropriated.

Representative Garofalo moved HF2640 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Quam presented HF2890.

Daron Korte, Minnesota Department of Education

Representative Garofalo laid over HF2890 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

HF2714 (Woodard) Charter school accountability and success fostered, and money appropriated.

Representative Woodard moved HF2714 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Mariani moved the H2714A5 amendment to HF2714.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
