EDUCATION REFORM

MINUTES

A quorum was present and Representative Erickson, Chair of the Education Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:17 AM on February 23, 2012, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Norton moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 21, 2012, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF 2329 (Holberg) CPR training and instruction requirements clarified.

Chair Erickson moved HF 2329 to be laid over for possible inclusion in another bill. Chair Erickson moved the H2329A2 amendment. Representative Holberg presented the amendment and stood for questions. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Holberg presented the bill and stood for questions.

The committee heard testimony on the bill.

Chair Erickson renewed the motion that HF 2329, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in another bill. THE BILL WAS LAID OVER.

HF 2293 (Davnie) School districts; ability to use prone restraints extended to one additional year, and data collection and reporting required.

Chair Erickson moved HF 2293. Chair Erickson moved the H2293A2 amendment. Representative Davnie explained the amendment and stood for questions. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davnie moved an oral amendment to the bill. Representative Davnie explained the amendment and stood for questions.

The amendment is as follows:

Page 2, line 2.24, delete: "or on a district’s restrictive"
Page 2, line 2.25, delete: "procedure documentation form"
