MINUTES

Representative Holberg, Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, called the meeting to order at 7:02 A.M. on May 18, 2011, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Garofalo moved to approve the minutes from the committee meeting on May 16, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

SF680 (Newman): Criminal act definition expansion under racketeering crime.

Representative Holberg moved SF 680 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Holberg temporarily laid SF 680 on the table.

HF1024 (Stensrud): Deputy commissioner numbers reduced and assistant commissioner position eliminated in the unclassified service.

Representative Holberg moved HF 1024 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Holberg moved the RA11-202 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Testifying on HF 1024, as amended:

Representative Holberg renewed her motion that HF 1024, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Holberg moved SF 680 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Amber Backhaus, Leonard, Street and Deinard

Representative Holberg renewed her motion that SF 680 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Holberg moved the KN-RES15-1 Amendment to KN-RES01-4. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF959 (Howes): Flood hazard mitigation funding provided, federal disaster assistance match funding provided, bonds issued, bond sale schedule provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Howes moved HF 959 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Howes moved the A11-0513 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Howes renewed his motion that HF 959, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register and that staff be allowed to make technical changes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 A.M.
