MINUTES

Representative Lesch, Chair of Committee on Civil Law, called the meeting to order at Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 8:25 AM in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF2598 (Halverson) A bill for an act relating to commerce; updating the Minnesota Liens on Personal Property in Self-Service Storage Act; amending Minnesota Statutes 2012; sections 514.971, subdivisions 2, 7, 8, by adding a subdivision; 514.973; 514.975; 514.976, by adding a subdivision; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 514.976, subdivisions 1, 2, 3, 4.

Chairman Lesch moved an amendment to HF2598 (See attached A14-0803). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Halverson presented HF2598.

Chairman Lesch moved HF2598 be re-referred to the Committee on Commerce. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Allen took over the gavel at 8:58 AM

Representative Lesch moved to amend HF2582 (See amendment MM-A04). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Proponent testifying on HF2582:

Representative Lesch renewed his motion that HF2582 be re-referred to the Committee on Commerce. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2616 (Fischer) Water appropriation provisions modified, and administrative penalties provided for violations.

Chairman Lesch reassumed the gavel at 9:18 AM.

Chairman Lesch moved that HF2616 be referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Policy.

Representative Fischer presented HF2616.

Proponent for HF2616:
Bob Meier, DNR

Chairman Lesch laid over HF2616.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 AM.
