HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE
MINUTES
Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 12:30 PM on February 26, 2014, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Chair Pelowski introduced four new staff members to the Committee: Ken Savary, Fiscal Analyst, Fiscal Analysis Department; Andy Pomroy, Research Consultant, DFL Caucus; Gabrielle Soojian, Research Consultant, GOP Caucus, and Emily Edstrom, House Page, Sergeant-at-Arms Department.
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) gave an overview and presentation of their 2014 capital budget request.
Testifying from MnSCU:
Steven J. Rosenstone, Chancellor
Michael Vekich, MnSCU Trustee
Brian Yolitz, Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities
Dr. Nancy Black, President, Inter Faculty Organization, testified in support of MnSCU's bonding request.
Representative Dorholt moved that the minutes of April 15, 2013, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:50 PM.
