MINUTES

Representative Murphy, Chair of Committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs, called the meeting to order at 12:30 February 26, 2014 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Newton acts as Chair

Representative Murphy moved HF 2365 for consideration

Representative Murphy presented HF 2365: License processing for members of the military by state agencies and professional licensing boards required to be expedited, temporary licensure provided for members of the military, and rulemaking authorized.

Representative Murphy renewed her motion that HF 2365 be re-referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Murphy moved HF 1948 for consideration

Representative Murphy presented HF 1948: Military reserve income tax subtraction extended to Active Guard Reserve income.

Representative Murphy renewed her motion that HF 1948 be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Newton moved HF 1947 for consideration

Representative Newton presented HF 1947: Retirement and disability pay for active military service income tax subtraction provided.

Representative Nelson moved HF 1915 for consideration

Representative Nelson moved HF1915A1 amendment as discussed. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Drazkowski presented HF 1915: Military experience peace officer exam reciprocity provided.

Representative Nelson renewed his motion that HF 1915, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Newton moved HF 1916 for consideration

Representative Newton presented HF 1916: Special women veteran’s license plates authorized, and money appropriated.

Representative Newton offered an oral amendment, page 4, delete July 1, 2014 and insert January 1, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED. AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Newton renewed his motion that HF 1916, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Murphy announced the next meeting would be held on Monday, March 3, 2014.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:44 PM.
