MINUTES

Representative Murphy, Chair of Committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs, called the meeting to order at 12:30 March 10. 2014 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Murphy announced that of the three bills being heard today we would be laying two of them over pending a fiscal note for both.

Representative Newton moved HF 2556

Representative Newton presented HF 2556: Veterans housing and long-term care; new residential facility moratorium exemptions provided, grants provided for veteran housing needs assessments, and money appropriated.

Representative Newton renewed his motion that HF 2556 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Newton presented HF 2557: County veterans service officer duties, commissioner of veterans affairs’ federal funding-related duties, and eligibility for veterans homes modified.
