MINUTES

Representative Dean, Chair of the Health and Human Services Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:57pm on March 25th, 2015, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Dean began the meeting at 12:50pm, a quorum was NOT present.

There was a quorum at 12:51pm. The meeting was called to order at 12:57pm.

Representative Schomacker moved approval of the March 24th, 2015 minutes. The motion PREVAILED. The minutes were APPROVED.

Representative Schomacker moved that HF 1296 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.

Representative P. Anderson and Mark Sizer, Stearns County Human Services Administrator presented on HF 1296.

Representative Schomacker renewed his motion that HF 1296 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill. The motion PREVAILED.

Representative Dean moved that HF 607 be re-referred to the general register.

Representative Theis; Andrea Rau, Legislative Director, MCCL; Reverand Abigail Henderson; Andrea Ledger, NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota; Karen Law, Pro-Choice Resources all testified on HF 607.

Representative Halverson moved to have HF 607 re-referred to the Committee on Commerce.

Representative Halverson requested a roll call on her motion. The results were as follows:

Representative Backer moved that HF 1632 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.

Representative Backer moved the A15 amendment. The motion PREVAILED.

Representative Backer and Joan Wilshire, Executive Director, MN State Council on Disability, testified on HF 1632, as amended.

Representative Backer renewed his motion that HF 1632 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill. The motion PREVAILED.

Representative Dean moved that HF 278 be re-referred to the Higher Education Committee.

Representative Kiel and Debbie Richman, Vice-President of Education & Outreach, Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota testified on HF 278.

Representative Dean renewed his motion that HF 278 be re-referred to the Higher Education Committee. The motion PREVAILED.

The meeting recessed at 2:27pm.

The meeting resumed at 8:28pm.

Representative Dean moved that HF 606 be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Dean renewed his motion that HF 1062 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill. The motion PREVAILED.
